The event took place at an oceanside, so I wanted to have some ocean components in the sticker. Also, the unicorn is the symbol of the Design Union (the name of our design team), so the image of narwhal cames to my mind.
I used optical illusions to mix the ocean and the whale; the sailboat and the horn.
Cat is the internal symbol in Groupon, so I picked the cat as the topic of the second sticker. Krispy Kreme was one of the most popular deals ran at Groupon(that’s why we have donuts in the kitchen area all the time!), so I thought that was a good idea to combine cat and donuts. Cute and sweet!
I did a couple rounds of exploration at the cat part. In the end, I removed unnecessary shapes and lines to make the cat simple. I made icon “G” as sprinkles on the top of the donuts with green glaze to represent the branding.
This version did’t be picked because there was a concern about using gradient colors on the sticker. I keep it here as an illustration.
